Consulting and lab for payment and crypto infrastructure

Embedded operators for the payments layer

We help licensed money transmitters, MSBs, and fintechs convert narrower product controls into a durable operating model that can take in, hold, and send customer funds across fiat and digital-asset rails—under controls banks, examiners, partners, and ownership can rely on. We design, implement, run, then transfer. We do not transmit or custody client funds.

Practice

The work under the platform

Slide decks are not the engagement. We inventory what you run today, write the operating system that should replace it, put controls into production, and leave them with your team.

Control inventory and operating model

We inventory the controls you have and the gaps that matter for a payments layer. We define a target operating model you can run day to day.

Policies, procedures, and runbooks

We write the control matrix and operating procedures for safeguarding, wallet funding and withdrawal, ACH, wire, card, and digital-asset initiation, dual control, access, exceptions, incidents, reconciliation, and retention. We stand up the control calendar and run it with you until handoff.

Transaction monitoring requirements

We specify monitoring requirements and typologies—balance breaks, unexpected movements, velocity and limits, failed rails, unreconciled omnibus positions, privileged access—and hand those into your BSA/AML program. We do not replace your BSA Officer.

Cash-flow maps and system inventory

We produce as-is and to-be cash-flow diagrams with timing, accounts, legal title, systems of record, and failure points, plus a system inventory on the path of funds.

Subledger, general ledger, and the daily path

We define subledger and general-ledger requirements for wallets, safeguarded or FBO cash, in-settlement items, returns and reserve, operating cash, fees, and crypto omnibus versus customer positions. We specify the daily bank and wallet path into the books, and a management balance-sheet memo. That memo is not a legal or audit opinion.

Sequenced operating packages

After the foundation, we deliver packages for systems on the cash-flow path, bank callbacks and portal entitlements, crypto omnibus procedures, and monthly control and cash-position reporting.

Engagement

Foundation first. Then packages.

Scope is confirmed in writing before work begins. Engagements end when the operating model is documented and transferred to your team.

Foundation

  1. Control inventory and gap analysis, and a target operating model.
  2. Policies, procedures, control matrix, and runbooks.
  3. A live control calendar, with evidence.
  4. Transaction-monitoring requirements and a handoff into your BSA/AML program.
  5. Cash-flow diagrams and a system inventory.
  6. Subledger and general-ledger requirements, a daily reconciliation path, and a management balance-sheet memo.

Packages, in sequence

  1. Systems on the cash-flow path, including requirements for an accounting successor.
  2. Bank callbacks, account inventory, and portal entitlements.
  3. Crypto omnibus procedures: withdrawal whitelist, API-key custody, subledger versus exchange reconciliation, and incident playbooks.
  4. Monthly control and cash-position reporting.

We work as embedded operators with your finance, compliance, engineering, and treasury owners. We are not a sole signer on bank or exchange accounts.

Lab

Spacey Space Sprockets

Spacey Space Sprockets is a DeFiConnect lab project: a simulated lowest-bid global payments marketplace where builders queue payment intents and liquidity providers compete on price. The platform concept uses a transparent take-rate on settled volume. It exists to test marketplace design and product ideas in the open.

Simulation only. No real money movement. No production rail connectivity. Not a live payments service and not an offer of money transmission.

Boundaries

What we do not do

Unless separately engaged in writing, DeFiConnect does not:

  • Provide legal opinions or audit opinions.
  • Serve as BSA Officer, MLRO, CFO, Controller, or NMLS qualified individual.
  • Obtain new licenses, or pursue international licensing.
  • Custody or transmit client funds, or act as sole signer on bank or exchange accounts.

DeFiConnect is not a licensed money transmitter. We do not guarantee regulatory outcomes, bank sponsorship, exam results, or cost savings.
